Hope Is In Jesus Christ
There is a phrase by Andre Maurois that says; “Why are we here on this puny mud heap spinning in infinite space? I have the slightest idea, and I am quite convinced that no one else has the least idea.” Such an attitude would be indicative of someone without any hope.
Matthew chapter 11 vss. 28 thru 30 Jesus says; “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
If you find yourself in need of hope do not give up: Get to know Jesus. He has given every sinner an invitation to come to Him. There is opportunity for anyone to experience a change in this life. Jesus is the power source which will allow the hope of anyone to become an eternal spring of optimism, in anticipation of a life with Jesus both now and when there has been a transition into eternity.
There are a lot of things we do not know or understand in life. But when it comes to knowing Jesus we have to have a strong faith which helps us to understand what it means to have hope.
The apostle Paul said to the brethren in Romans 8 vss. 24 and 25; “For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope for why does one hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait with perseverance.”
Jesus says in John 5 vs. 24; “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.”
Many people live life with no sense of hope. Let it not be you. Try Jesus. He will not let you down. Everything in this life will be short-lived in comparison to eternity. This world is not our permanent dwelling place and glory be to God that it isn’t! 1st Timothy 6 vs. 7 says; “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”
As to the hope that is found in Jesus Christ the brethren were reminded of their hope in 1st. Thessalonians chapter 5 vss. 8 thru 10. The bible says; “But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us that whether awake or sleep we should live together with Him.”
Oh yes; there is good news everyday for those who know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
The words of the Apostle Paul to the brethren in 2nd. Corinthians chapter 4 vs. 16 comes to mind. The bible says; “Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.”
